Why HamikVPN: 7 Honest Reasons to Choose Us
There are hundreds of VPN services, and almost all of them promise the same two things: "maximum speed" and "total anonymity". We won't. Here are seven concrete, verifiable reasons why people stay with HamikVPN — and three things we refuse to promise.
1. Our own servers, not a rebranded reseller
A large share of "VPN services" are resellers: a polished app on top of someone else's infrastructure they don't control. HamikVPN works differently: we deploy and administer our own nodes in Europe — Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden — plus our own control plane (dashboard, API, monitoring). When something breaks, we don't file a ticket with a third-party host; we fix it ourselves, usually within hours. And if a node goes down, your subscription survives: keys are migrated to healthy servers.
2. AmneziaWG: WireGuard speed where plain WireGuard no longer works
HamikVPN runs on AmneziaWG, a WireGuard fork with traffic obfuscation. The cryptography is the same (ChaCha20-Poly1305 + Curve25519), the speed is the same, but the traffic doesn't look like a VPN to deep packet inspection (DPI) systems. In practice that means: on networks where vanilla WireGuard is blocked by protocol signature, AmneziaWG keeps working — without falling back to slow legacy protocols.
3. No auto-billing. None.
There is no subscription trap: we never attach your card to auto-renewal. When your paid period ends, access simply pauses. No surprise charges "for next month", no hunting for a cancel button buried five screens deep. You renew when you decide to — in the web account, the app, or the Telegram bot. A service should retain you with quality, not with a forgotten subscription.
4. Try before you pay: 3 days free, no card required
The trial asks for no payment details: sign up with an email or via Telegram and you get 3 days of full access. That's deliberate — you test speed and stability on your own networks (home ISP, mobile data, office) before paying anything. Plans start at €3/month, and the difference between them is the number of devices, not the "level of protection".
5. Pay the way that suits you: card or crypto
Payments are processed by Platega: international Visa/Mastercard and cryptocurrency (USDT and others) are billed in euros; Russian cards in rubles. That's rare for a small service — usually it's "one payment method or nothing". Your card data is handled by the payment provider; we never see or store it. Refunds follow clear rules described in our refund policy.
6. Minimal data about you — because we don't need it
An account takes an email address or a Telegram login. No passport, no phone number, no "identity verification". We don't keep activity logs (which sites you visit) — that's not a marketing slogan but an architectural decision: billing only needs to know "subscription active", nothing more. Your account password is stored only as a cryptographic hash. What we do store (email, payment dates) is transparently listed in the privacy policy.
7. Human support and a service that visibly evolves
Support lives in Telegram (@HamikVPNSupportBot) and is answered by humans, not by "have you tried rebooting your router" scripts. News and changes are published in the @HamikVPN channel. In recent months the service shipped a one-tap Android app, a web account in eight languages, a referral program (+10 days for you, +3 for a friend) and crypto payments — you can verify that by the dates in this blog, not by "coming soon" promises.
What we do NOT promise
- "Total anonymity". A VPN encrypts your traffic and hides your IP from websites, but it does not make you invisible: browser fingerprints, the accounts you're logged into, and your own behaviour stay with you. How to judge such promises soberly — see the signs of an unreliable VPN.
- That it works in every country. Some networks and jurisdictions block aggressively, and nobody can honestly guarantee stability there. We test, and we tell it like it is — which is exactly why the trial needs no card.
- Big-corporation magic. We're a small team. That means less marketing — and a much shorter path from a support message to a fix on the server: typical issues are fixed the same day.
Try it and decide for yourself
The best argument isn't an article — it's your own test: create an account, get 3 free days, install the app and check the speed on your networks. If it's not for you, you've lost nothing; if it is, you'll know exactly what you're paying for.
