AmneziaWG 3.1: what changed and what to choose
HamikVPN instructions now use the current AmneziaWG wording: Windows opens a choice between our app and AmneziaWG, and Linux has an official x64 package with AWG 3.1 support.
What matters in the new version
Amnezia documentation describes AmneziaWG as a WireGuard-Go fork: the WireGuard cryptography stays intact, while the transport layer is changed so packets are less recognizable to DPI systems.
AmneziaWG 3.1 continues the obfuscation and tooling line. Developer materials position the AmneziaWG app as a lightweight universal client for ready-made keys, while the full Amnezia app is aimed at managing your own servers.
For HamikVPN users the practical rule is simple: choose AmneziaWG, not regular WireGuard, otherwise a key with our parameters will not connect.
What to choose on Windows
HamikVPN app
Best for most users: account login, signup and payment inside the app, automatic server selection, subscription status on screen, no manual .conf import.
Choose this if you want everything in one window and do not want to re-import keys when changing a node.
AmneziaWG
A lightweight open-source client: install it, import the .conf key and turn the tunnel on. Useful as a fallback or for users who prefer a separate universal client.
Choose this if you are comfortable importing keys manually and checking subscription/server changes in the cabinet.
Linux is covered too
For Linux we host the official x64 .run package from the Amnezia release with AWG 3.1 support. Advanced users can also use amneziawg-tools and the kernel module from the official project repositories.

Key filenames
Key files now use names without hyphens or dots in the basename: hamikkay plus digits, for example hamikkay12345678.conf. This reduces import mistakes in AmneziaWG.
